This week in Science (seven)

This week in science we learned more about moon phases and why they happen.  They happen because when the moon revolves around the Earth one half is always lit up by the Sun.  But we on Earth can only see one half.  The moon is therefor cut into imaginary pieces, the side we can see and the side that is lit up.  So as the moon revolves, the section we can see that is also lit up by the Sun will decrease and increase in a cycle.  We also learned that the moon revolves at the same rate that it rotates.
